Looking into surgery
Hi everyone

I am so happy I found this
group. I have decided to seriously look into having the
Laprascopic Gastric Bypass (if they do it here in Canada) and
I was wondering if there were any people on this
list from Canada. I would be interested in speaking
with someone who could tell me of some Dr.s that have
good reputations and also the cost of this
operation.

I am 35 and currently 260 lbs & 5′7… I have tried
everything and at this point in my life I am just FED UP. I
have put myself on a VERY restricted diet of 2 rice
cakes, 2 cans of broth soup and 2 cans of diet pop and
in 6 weeks I have lost 4.5 lbs. VERY
UPSETTING.

I broke my foot 6 months ago and it is not healing
well so I may have to have it broken and pinned. So
right now I can’t work out which I’m sure if I did it
might help the weight loss along. Oh well thanks for
listening to me ramble on and I look forward to hearing
from you all soon.

Deborah
ontario CANADA

Hi Deborah,
I wish you success with your
weight-loss.
Have you considered getting into a pool. It
reduce the amount of weight put on your foot, and yet
offer some resistance. The doctors say that the more
active you are; the greater your chances for success.
Also, there are web sites such as Wls.com (I think)
that have information on doctors. Including, patient’s
feed-back. I think this includes Canadians. If not, you may
find a link there to other possible
sites.

Dottie
Pre-op DS
