Familie’s support
I have been approved for the surgery by my
insurance company, but many of my family members do not
approve of wls. They state there are too many risks
involved and that there are other alternatives. As you
know, I have tried these. Sometimes, I think that they
do not want me to succeed. I think that they are
afraid of the positive changes that this will bring
about. I think that they are somewhat jealous.
Especially, when I think of the prejudice that I was raised
with. The struggle I had to maintain my self-esteem,
even with my own family. I am doing this for me. I
want to live a "normal" life. I am making this change
happen for myself, and don’t get in my way!
Thanks, I needed to vent. This helps me to remain
focused.

Dottie
Pre-op DS

I don’t know if I’m getting support from my
family or not. I mean they encourage me to stay on my
diet and continue doing my exercise. But then later,
they just eat WHATEVER the h@ll they want (mostly my
favorite foods) allll around me, as if it didn’t bother
me.

Along with that, they expect me to stick
to my diet. But it’s so d@mn hard!!! I find myself
sometimes going f@ckin’ crazy and insane!!!

I have a
feeling I’m gonna have to move after surgery. In an
environment of people who I can relate with. What do you all
think?

I think doing your own thing after the surgery is
a good idea. You’ll feel more confident after you
lose some weight and with confidence, generally there
are more people who want to be around you. Besides,
you will get to lead your own life as an adult, and
not the fat child your family keeps you. Just another
girls opinion!
