Knowing You Are To Have Surgery Soon….
Sunday, September 19th, 2004Have you done well on your diet or program you are on, then you suddenly go off
the banwagon from everything being so overwhelming???
Have you done well on your diet or program you are on, then you suddenly go off
the banwagon from everything being so overwhelming???
The only person that responded to "Any regrets"
was Ice. Does that mean that everyone else who has
had the surgery is happy with the
results?

Also I wanted to ask another question. Did those of
you who had surgery have other illnesses that you
were on medications for prior to the surgery. What
percent and types of your illnesses were helped, and what
percent of your medications were you able to get off
of?
Thanks.
Sami
What’s the substance they have you to drink that tastes so gross? What’s the
taste similar to? Why is it known to taste so bad?
What happens if you don’t give up caffine before and after surgery?
Are there any members who would not do the
surgery again if they had the choice? I just got my
approval, and I am super excited. While I was waiting for
my approval I told myself there would be no
questions on my part. Now all of the "am I doing the right
thing" ect. are running through my mind.
Sami
Hi everyone, I have an orientation meeting next week about the surgery. I am
also planning on attending the support group meeting next tuesday night. Any
advise?
I had the surgery on Sept 25th and have lost a
little over 40 lbs. I find the protein powders
nauseating. I have tried ever possible concoction in which to
include them and my pantry is starting to resemble a GNC
I have so many different kinds of protein.
Nonetheless, protein powders gross me out.

My other
problem is that the smell of onions makes me gag. Any
suggestions?
What happens if you don’t have good protein intake? What could be the risks &
complications?
I am in the researching and waiting for my appt
phase of the road to surgery process. I was wondering
if anyone else out there is lactose and nutrasweet
intolerant. The diet described for post op is skim milk with
diet CIB. I plan on using soy milk (which I already
drink) with protein powder low carb supplements (whey
and soy). If any one else has used this combo, I
would like to know how it was tolerated. I am most
concerned about dumping since whey tends to "loosen ya up"
anyway. I also found a clear fluid drink at the gym that
body builders use that has no nutrasweet and no carbs
and 40! grams of whey protein in 20 oz of CLEAR
drink. If you have any info to add let me know……:)
I have this one problem that I NEED to get rid
of! You see, I live with my dad & stepmom, who don’t
have to worry about their weight. So they eat all the
hell they want, including MY FAVORITE ice cream! They
always eat it around me, and I tend to get real jealous
and p@ssed, cuz I know I can’t have any. I really
want to get rid of this temptation, cuz I know it’s
not worth it. What should I do??? I want to get rid
of this temptation ESPECIALLY before surgery, so I
won’t have to deal with it afterwards.

I thought
I should move into another environment, where I’ll
be able to focus better on my health. And stay until
I can get strong again.
