Hi Everyone!
I am just at the beginning stages of this whole thing. I am trying to
contact my Dr. to get a referral to see Dr. Thomas Hopkins in the
Sacramento, CA area. I have talked it over and over with my husband and he
too is afraid after I become the "new" me, that I will change out of the
person he fell in love with. He asked me if I can promise him, that won't
happen and I said "no, I can't". "Because I don't know what the future
will hold for me." All I know is I am doing this to better my health &
life...and I want to be around for a very long time for my 15 month old
daughter and my husband. I want us to be able to do things as a family;
ie: skiing, going to the beach (in a bathing suit), go to the theme parks
and be able to fit in the roller coaster seat, and be able to go in an
airplane and fit in the seat. My husband is totally behind me 100% and so
is my Mom. She is even willing to help us pay for the surgery and all
other other Dr. bills I'll rack up if my insurance company doesn't pay for
<!--more-->
it. She said, "Jennifer, if there is one thing in life I can give you, I
want to give you the gift of a new you". I just broke down and
cried. That has got to be the sweetest thing anybody has ever said to
me. Besides the day my husband married me.

As for the men or women who are not behind you 100%, just keep telling them
that I will always be the same person you married on the inside, but on the
outside the skinny person who is stuck inside this fat person's body, is
about to emerge. Then say I love you. Good luck to you all!

I too am in the same position. My husband has never had a weight problem,
although he now is getting a pouch gut. I, on the other hand, have been a
typical yo-yo, from a size 9 to a size 28 numerous times. He has never
mentioned my weight, I know that he would prefer me to be thin, but his
standard response has always been "You'll lose it when you want too." The
problem is that I can lose but I always gain it back, and some. With my
upcoming surgery he has the same concerns, will I stray with this new image
of mine. I told him no, he is the only man for me. Just keep reassuring him
that he is your king and you only want to be his queen.
