Divorce rate

I did postpone my appointment untill 5/23. I am disappointed, but am
confident that it has made a difference for my husband. My husband is much
easier to talk to about this decision now. He has since expressed his fear
of personality changes. He enjoys eating as much as I do, but is only
slightly overweight. So he is also "mourning" the loss of his eating buddy.

As he is an attorney, I believe he just saw this surgery barreling down on us
and he reacted by negotiating for more time. I believe this helped with
resolving a sense of powerlessness for him. I think he is anticipatorally
dealing with issues that are bound to come up for most couples, and commend
him for being so insightful. He tells me now for the first time that he is
with me on this 100% and will support me. Of course, we’ll see as the date
approaches again.

Thanks for your input. I must admit I was a bit surprised at how quickly

some people were willing to discuss divorce without trying other avenues.
All I had to do is compromise a little. One extra month is not all that much
more to wait if it helps your life partner come to terms with some emotions.
As Dr. Phil says "do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?"
