leg pain

Monday, February 28th, 2005

Hi my name is Leslie, and I am almost three week post. I seem to be doing ok
except for leg pain. I was put in the hospital for a day to check and see if
blood clots were forming. they ran every test they had to rule this out. Thank
God it was not that! Has anyone out there experience this problem?

MY new Doctor

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

I have started with a Doctor E. Martinez in Los Angeles. I may have a surgery
date for late August or early September. My health care carriers both have pre
approved and will be sending the full treatment within the next few weeks. If
all is a go I will be haveng open RNY. I wanted to be banded but that does not
seem to be the direction that I’m headed. I am happy with this decision but
after all this time being so close is kind of scarey.

I.m going on vacation for a week in New York to see my sons and grand daughters
in August and after that I hope to have my surgery. That means that the next
time I see my family I will be able to do all the things with them that I have
always wanted to do. Like fit in seats and be able to go for long walks without
having to sit down to catch my breath or rest and catch up.

Love ya’ll, Maureen

Hmmmm, wrong info I gave

Although I bought my daVinci syrups at coffeeam.com, I just went to
their website and they’ve changed to another syrup. Since I don’t know
that one, I can’t recommend it. If you look for it in Walmart (limited
selection), it will probably be with the coffees. And, of course,

Hi All
I am new as well I am waiting for my insurance company to decline
or except :( I hope it is the latter. I have Cigna EPO does anyone
have that and if so how dang long does it take I have been waiting
since 13th of JUne I know for some it is not a long time but for me
it seems like forever. I also have a few questions. I hope you all
do not mind me asking them I am 297lbs. 5′ 1" s tall and I am 51.
Has anyone found that age makes a diffrence in how you recover after
surgery and yes i do have some medical problems Diabetis,High blood
pressure servere arthuritis and I am bored all the time. I go no
where and do nothing . But that is soon to change with Gods Help..
I have read almost every post here and some of you really scare
me. Do you all have these problems after surgery or is it just a
few? I have a lot of fears when i read some of this. But I still am
going on with it for my life is going no where and I will die if i

Re Getting bored with diet.

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

I have just started venturing outside the box today. I went to Trader Joe’s
and bought a salad. I didn’t eat the lettuce, but I put the wine vinegar
over the toppings (soft goat cheese, beets, and walnuts). It was
scrumptuallyumptous!

Saturday my husband and I went on our first date since the surgery. We went
to El Cholo (famous L.A. inauthentic Mexican restaurant) I had 1/2 a
quesidilla with a smidgen of guacamole, and a 1/4 of a margarita. After the
movie we went to starbucks and had a tall latte. My husband ordered carrot
cake and I had 3 bites. I felt like I really indulged, and was thouroughly
satisfied.

I wouldn’t suggest my saturday meal to you folks, but todays lunch would
probably be ok for "soft diet" folk.

Getting Bored With My Diet & Everything Else……………….

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

I’ve been continuing working with my weight loss. Exercising, and
sticking to my diet. The last time I weighed myself, I lost 11 lbs!
And I can now start using the regular scales!!! =) I went from 550,
down to 340 lbs!!!

There’s just one thing. Even though I’ve been doing great with my
weight loss. I’ve just been so d@mn bored with my diet! I eat the
same thing every day. I’m on a 600 cal. diet, and I eat grits or
cream of wheat, broth, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello, nonfat
milk, and sugar-free popsicles, fudgeicles, and Crystal Light.

I just get so d@mn tired of eating the same d@mn thing every single
day. I’m having a lot of trouble with constipation. It makes it
even harder when living with people who don’t have a weight problem.
I do my best to stay active, and of course to stick to my diet every

small question

I think you may want to let your docs assistants in the office know that the
birth date is wrong and needs to be changed.

Just have a small question……..

Monday, February 21st, 2005

Today I received a copy of the letter of medical neccessity that my
PCP is going to send to my insurance provider. I noticed 2 small
mistakes he made on it, 1 was he put me @ a year older than I am,&
2, he put that my Father died from a heart attack, when actually my
Dad did have a heart attack BUT died from a stroke!! Do you think
this is something I should just leave alone or should I have him
correct this?? Would the ins. co. even notice this? Won’t they be
more concerned with what he said about me? Please let me know what
you all think.
