Blue cross explanation of benefits arrived today
Hey everyone,
Received my EOB today for the hospital. The claim amt was 23K+. The
insurance negotiated it down to $5,500 and paid it. They tell me I’m off the
hook for the rest. I’m feeling very fortunate right now. Just waiting for
the MD bills to come in.
I must say though, that I can’t see how the hospital can turn a profit
at that rate. The bill was for surgery, and 2 nights stay. The nursing alone
was over $1,000.00 not including the aides.
