Hi all! I just returned from my Dr. w/ somewhat good news. Although
I still have NO co-morbs (which I think is great!!!) other than my
knees (which after my x-rays came back, Dr. says it is
CHONDROMALACIA PATELLA), my Dr. is getting the paperwork together
(letter of med. nec. & referal), and is going to get me set up to
see Dr. Margaret Inman @ St. Vincent Hosp. in Indy,In. Like I said,
although my bloodwork came back w/ no probs. at all, Dr. says I am
120 lbs. over my ideal weight w/ a BMI of 40.3!!! He also said he
thinks it would be better to perform such a surgery on someone who
IS healthy,but extremely overweight, than to operate on someone who
is already at risk from complications due to HBP,Diabetes,High
Cholesterol,Etc. He also thinks the age of the person makes a
difference. I TOTALLY agree w/ him. I'm sorry if this in any way
offends anyone, this is just my Dr.'s (and mine) opinion. Although I
still have a long way to go in this process, I am sooooo excited
<!--more-->
(and nervous,and scared,and so on,and so on....)!!!!! Wish me luck
people!!!!!
