Sick Days before Surgery
Since I am having surgery out of town, I recently had a "pre-op"
appointment at the hospital last Tuesday & I cought a cold. Now just
this morning I started caughin up the green-stuff. I don’t "feel"
really bad. I don’t have headaches,or temperature,or anything;
rather, I just have alot of dry caughing which is taking its toll on
my throat; that is until this morning. I sound like an old woman
thats been smoking all her life!!! My surgery is currently scheduled
for Tuesday. I was thinking about waiting til Monday to call &
advise my doctor. I would appreciate any advice.

It sounds like you may have a bad cold, possibly some bronchitis. Since this is
Saturday, I would call the Dr. to ask him what he wants you to do. If you don’t
feel like bothering him over the weekend. Wait until Monday morning first thing
and call his office. He may not want to operate if you have a cold, sinusitis
or bronchitis. The surgery can’t be postponed until after the weekend anyway I
don’t believe, because it has to be ordered by the Dr. and followed up and
rescheduled by the office staff/manager.
