follow up on Aetna

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Good afternoon everyone,

I wanted to up date the information on getting my appeal decile reversed. As you
know Friday last (10/11) I call Aetna to see what I could do to clear up the
questions they were asking from my PCP. — On Monday (10/7) I called Aetna
again and this time spoke with a nurse in appeal dept. She was kind enough to
email their Medical Director, then I wronte a letter to my PCP with copies of
the letter of denile and the information gleaned off Aetna’s site about weight
loss. (Although the information "they" said was there about Obesity: Surgery
Treatment was not there.) — My wonderful husband Harvey took the entire package
to my doctors office that very morning so he would have it when Aetna called.

Today Friday (10/11) I followed up, called my doctors’ office, they said Aetna
need copies of 6 months of going to Weight Watchers and a letter from him about
what "we" did in the way of weight loss over the 6 months (this had to be within

Distal? — Proximal?

Friday, May 27th, 2005

I know there were several messages of late about the difference between distal
and proximal. But to my dismay I can not remember what the difference is and if
one is better than the other. — I have gone through the archives of both groups
and could not find info.

Would one of you have an answer for me or direct me to about where in the
archive to look again.

Thank you in advance

Pregnancy vs. WLS?

Friday, May 27th, 2005

Can anyone direct me to some information on the health hazards down
the road for me with getting pregnant years after WLS surgery? How
do you deal with morning sickness, getting enough nutrients, the
stretching of the stomach, etc?

Any personal stories? I haven’t had the surgery yet and I’m only
24, but I don’t want to trade my life away and then not be able to
have health pregnancies in the future.

Advice?

Hello everyone!

up-date re: Aetna

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

Sorry about the first message hit the wrong key :-(
I called Aetna again this morning. This time I was transfered to the appeal
department. As I talked to the person she was able to answer a few questions.
However the biggest help was she Sent an e-mail to the Medical Director with my
doctors phone number so he could call him. Yea!

Now I am back to waiting. Hurry up and wait.
