2 days left and I am so nervous!!
Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven’t posted. Just getting everything ready for the surgery. i am
really getting nervous. I am off work starting today so I am thinking way
too much. I hope everyone is doing well and I will have my mom give updates
as we go. Next week I will start being more involved with the groups and be
able to be a support person for anyone who needs it. These groups have meant
so much to me and I am so glad to be part of them.
Wish me luck,
Chrissy

Good luck! I can’t believe you took off work 2 days before. I kept busy
right up until the day of surgery. When you wake up from surgery keep
focused that things will only get better as the days go on. I’m 6 weeks
post-op and almost can’t believe I had surgery at all. I feel great and you
will too, I’m sure of it.

Hello All,
I went to a support group meeting today for Weight loss surgery. I am required
to attend one meeting before surgery. I have to have a psychiatric evaluation
on Monday and medical clearance one week before the surgery. After all that is
done then the surgery will be scheduled. My insurance has already approved and
authorized the surgery. At the meeting tonight I was soooooo encouraged.
Everyone there it seems has already lost 100 pounds or more. This was so
encouraging. I didn’t even know so many people has already had this surgery.
Everyone was soooo positive and encouraging. This time is the first time I am
writing to this message board. I have been lurking for about a month and the
meeting tonight gave me the courage to write. I am sooo excited. My husband
and children are very supportive. But my siblings and friends are not, so I am
not going to tell them when I have the surgery. Between the support meetings,
husband, children and this board I think I will be just fine.
I am having the surgery with Dr. R. O’Connell in New Orleans, LA, at Pendleton
Memorial Methodist Hospital.
