I had a RNY on 7/18/02.My surgical procedure was a conversion from a VBG. I have developed a wound infection that will not go away! I have three open wounds on my incision that has to be packed twice a day with gauze soaked in saline. We have tried Dakins Solution (saline with a bleach additive), antibiotics. It has been almost 4 months and basically no improvement. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was your wounds treated? I would love to hear from anyone that has gone thru this also. My conversion was done primarily becuase of severe problems with the VBG (barfing every meal,unable to eat at all!)but I have lost 50 lbs, no longer have GERD,and NOT throwing up.
