   Depends on your doc and hospital. I’m having mine for $22k, and I am
   full pay. However, I’m not having mine in Houston.

   I have been reading about GBS for awhile now and am almost ready to
   go haave it done, I am making an appt with doctors in houston and
   will see if my ins will cover it. Can anyone tell me approx. how
   much the procedure is in case my ins. does not cover it.

   I have Unicare insurance, I am not sure whether it will cover it or
   not at this point, my bmi is 48, but my policy reads that it
   excludes obesity surgery. I am in the procees now of choosing a
   doctor. tough dicision.

   I had surgery 7/31/02 with Dr. Ferrari in Houston, surgery was at Vista Hospital
   in Pasadena. So far my insurance has paid over $50, 000 to the hospital,
   surgeon, etc. It seems extreme for a 48 hour hospital stay, but I am extremely
   pleased with the results. But a lady who was self pay the same day as me, paid
   $18,900 total for hospital and surgeon, cash.
