Hi everyone. I am new to this group. Have been reading for a while
though but have never posted. After almost 9 months of waiting I
finally have a date and it is Nov. 26. May I ask for support and
prayers from the group? I am both excited and nervous. Keep waking
up during the night and having difficulty sleeping. Hope this is
normal. Does anyone have any pre-op suggestions that will make my
hospital stay and home recup go more smoothly? I will be pretty much
on my own following surgery. My husband will help out but he works
shifts so I will have to do a lot on my own. After such a long wait
this seems just unbelievable.!!!
thanks to those who responded - I’m trying not to be so out of control
No one answered the ? about liquid though - Was anyone else asked to
do a week or two of liquid pre-op?

i think I spoke too soon yesterday because last night and this morning all I
have done is get up and goto the bathroom and have had severe gas and
belching. Is this normal. i am now 5 days post op and am miserable. My mom
just went to get me some quick dissolve phayzme for the gas. I pray it
helps. i just want to cry. I am trying to figure out if I drank too fast or
if I introduced any new liquids yesterday, and I think it could only be the
first step bananas or i had a few popsicles, and some diluted apple juice.
Help

loving it. Ok I am off to watch trading spaces. I will check in later

Hello everyone,
I just finished reading all the posts for the past week. yea! It is nice to see
the group is growing. I am sorry to read about the sadness in many of your
lives. I am sorry I am not real good with names. Please know that I have sent a
prayer for each of you. (I do this as I read so as not to forget names)
I have been pretty busy over the last week and a half. I have fax-ed all the
additional information to the insurance com. (Aetna) now it is another waiting
game. It has been two weeks, I plan on calling them the first part of November.
Last week (Wed. Oct. 23rd) I has elbow surgery. It is keeping me from doing lost
of things. I went to the doctor yesterday (Oct.30) was able to get the half cast
off and stitches out. I was so excited I told my doctor "now I can pick up my
granddaughters" his reply was NO. He knows me very well. Now I will start PT

Hello to all, my name is Carla and I am from Canada. I would like to
know if there are people here who have self paid for WLS and if so,
maybe they would share what they had to pay. I would be looking for
a surgeon in the northeast US probably.
Thanks a lot and I look forward to getting to know other members
here.
