Susan,
I noticed in your last email regarding the Chamber Card that you
mentioned that the hospital wrote off $22k in charges, how is that?
I am just curious?

Pam,
Have you or anyone out there heard of The Chamber Card. It includes all the
savings of the Medical PPO Network (Doctors, Hospitals, and Ancillary Services,
Dental Network, Vision Network, Pharmacy Network, Hearing Network, Chiropractic
Network, Pet Network, Legal Network, Alt Care, Air Ambulance and the Nurse
Hotline. As you may have read, my last distraut email was about getting
rejected for coverage by the hospital that had given me so much hope. If any
one else has any suggesstions then PLEASE HELP…..

Hi,
I am relatively new here too. I have been reading here for months,
but haven’t really written anything. I am preop, scheduled for
surgery on May 12. Just waiting my turn. My friend at work had a
laparoscopic RNY Today. Stopped to see her on my way out of work
today and she was very tired and sore, but in good spirits. Can’t
wait til it’s my turn.
My hubby is also having wls, but insurance denied him last week. He
was planning on a AGB, but they won’t cover it, so looks like he’s
switching to RNY because they will cover that.
I really enjoy the posts here and use this group as a support while I
wait. So say HI if you want. See ya..

Okay, so if all goes as planned I will have the surgery some time
this summer (Dr. has not yet decided to do just a VBG or VBG with
bypass). What really scares me is this…since I have failed at all
other diets and eating plans, what makes me think that I will stick
with this one after surgery. The dietitian told me that it is fairly
easy to "eat around" the surgery and gain wait despite to procedure.
How can a person who has had such lack of control with food in the
past prevent themselves from doing this in the future?
Has anybody else faced this same fear? How did you deal with it?
Can it possibly be true that I will be satisfied with 1/4 cup meals?
I am scared to death that I will fail at this too and then there will
be no more options for me.
Hello,
I am new to the group and in the pre-op evaluation process. I am
nervous about the surgery and want to know what people who have
experienced it have to say about it (both good and bad).
Hello,
For more than a month now, I have been getting test done and rushing Doctors to
complete letters, being on pins and needles to hear from the surgeon now to find
out that the hospital that told me in very plain english after me asking twice
tells me that Medicaid does not cover the surgery.
I never imagined that I would feel like this. If there is anyone in the state
of WV that has gotten the surgery and is on Medicaid then please let me know.
I wish you all the very best.
Yvonne
