Great WWW Carb Site!
Good Evening Everyone!
During one of my breaks today at work I was smurfing around on the
internet looking for low carb recipes. As much as I LOVE steak, pork
and chicken – I can’t stand it anymore! To top that all off, for
some reason I’m starving today, I mean really starving. I have no
idea what that’s all about since I’ve been doing so well for the last
few weeks.
I woke up at 11:45pm last night because my stomach felt `goofy’. It
took me nearly two hours to go back to sleep and in that interim I
must have burped 150 times! I don’t know what was going on, I just
know when my alarm went off at 4pm I had pretty sincere thoughts
about watching it bounce off of the walls.
So, back to the reason I’m writing. I was looking for low carb
recipes online and I happened to come across the `USDA National
Nutrient Database for Standard Reference – Nutrient Data
Laboratory’. On this site you can put in the food you’re eating,
want to eat, or want to get depressed about because you can’t eat it,
and it gives you all the value breakdowns on it. It’s really kind of
cool. Of course I was mad when I saw how many carbs one lousy egg
has in it (my choices at work are slim at best), but I still found it
to be very informative.
You guys might want to check it out..

Hey Ladies,
Tell me, do I have to do the Fleet Prep Kit before the surgery. I am STARVED.
My Colonoscopy is scheduled for 8 AM so I’m going to pack a lunch and have it
ready as soon as I get finished tomorrow. This is just a taste of what is to
come, right. After the surgery, it will be clear soup and pop cycles for quit
some time. Oh well, the price for a better life …… it’s not bad at all.

Believe me, you won’t WANT to eat after the surgery <G>. At least that
was my experience. It was all I could do to get my water and my protein
drinks in. I personally did not have to do a fleet prep prior to
surgery. My doc wanted us to eat very lightly, the evening before. I
think I had a salad buffet around 3pm, and that was that. Different docs
have different requirements.

Hi, Louise. The best protein drinks for us are the blended whey drinks.
They’re predigested and have very little carbs or sugars (or fats!).
Predigested means that we can use the protein in it to the fullest.
There are a number of kinds out there, and you have to find the kind
that you like the best. I personally get mine from www.vitalady.com
because she has the option of buying samples. I understand taht at some
GNCs (maybe all of them) if you get a container you don’t like, you can
return it. My favorite is a scoop of Proscore 100 choc and a scoop of
Pure Whey stack choc in 6 oz of water, mixed with tap water. (always mix
with water - we don’t need the extra sugars in milk, and the protein in
milk is not as digestible). The popsicles are just the sugarfree
popsicles you can get at Walmart or any grocery store.
HTH.

Hi Yvonne, I had to do the enema thing two days before surgery and the night
before surgery. I was also on medifast for 3-4 weeks before surgery. With one
meal of salad and protein once a day and no food at all the day before surgery.
I can under stand their reason why. He doesn’t want to cut you open and find
half digested food in the stomach and intestines. Could cause an infection.

The people at SparkLIST have contacted me to tell me that they’ve
removed us from their list. So we should be good to go - no one can
figure out who we got "attached."
Thanks for your patience.

Dang I go in the hospital for a few days and I come
back to a full mailbox. I am glad everyone is doing
well. I am doing better now that they found out why I
could not eat food. I have an ulcer right next to the
opening of my stomach. So clear liquids for another
week. AHHHHHHHHH I want real food. I have to take some
meds for 10 days that should make it better. I guess I
can not compline….I have lost 50 lbs in 6 weeks. I
forgot what under 300 looks like ….I kind a like it
lol.
Anyway everyone keep up the good work.
Lots of love,

Hi Louise,
I think that most of us were scared, so to me it is totally normal. I was
more scared of what could happen down the road though. I have diabetes and
was afraid that one day the Dr. would come in and say they had to remove my
leg, or that I would have a heart attack and would they be able to save me.
I hated being a prisoner in my own body, not able to enjoy the fun things in
life either because it was painful or my concern as to weather people were
looking at me. I had my surgery 1 month ago -35#, I had no problems at all,
I no longer am diabetic, I do not have high blood pressure anymore and I
feel great, my 15 year old son and I went hiking in the mountains on Monday,
what a great memory we made together. The best thing you can do is make sure
you know what to expect good and bad and form your decision from an informed
mind. Take care and we are all here to help in your journey.
