do you think i will be approved by ins.?
hi i am phil i weigh 300 lbs. 6.0 tall. i have high blood pressure
for over 20 years, high clor, i also have a lung disorder called
sarcoid. i am 43 years old male and sick of being fat! my back hurts,
knees hurt, i am a mess!i have tried evey diet there is ,i have
purchased all the wieght loss diets from tv and all the work out
tapes , gut buster,body by jake.bike you name it. my doctor says it
will be toufgh getting me approved but is going to try next week.
anybody have any information that might help . thanks phil

Why does he think it will be tough? Is it because of the sarcoid?
Your BMI is 40.7, which meets the NIH requirements for morbid obesity
on BMI alone. You have co-morbidities, like your high blood pressure
and high cholesterol, which would also, if anything, lower the BMI
requirement for NIH. Of course, unless your insurance is one that
is trying to get out of doing the surgery by requiring an even higher
BMI’s (which some have done).
