Hello to everyone
I am just beginning my journey in seeking weight-loss surgery. I
have investigated several different procedures and I think the RNY is
the one for me. However, this could be subject to change depending
on my insurance and the Doctors that are available in my area. I am
in Richmond, Virginia and it seems that we are pretty limited here in
our selections of physicians. I am terrified of this whole
adventure, but I also look forward to a better quality of life
afterwards. I was previously interested in the DS surgery, however,
I am not sure about that since I would have to travel to Northern
Virginia and deal with Docs and hospitals that I know absolutely
nothing about. Just looking to chat with people that are in the same
boat as me, or the lucky ones who can say they have been there and
done that…and would do it all over again. *smile*
I happened upon this group while doing a search and read the messages
that were previously posted and found a great bunch of people here.

Welcome to the group!!!
I am one of those that had the RNY on 9-23-02 and I
can tell you that I would do it all over again in a
heartbeat :)!!
I am done 70 pounds and you cant wipe the smile off my
face, I feel so good!!! All the aches and pains are
gone and I cant wait to face the next day and see what
it brings!!

that is a an excellent site. that is how i found my doctor. they have alot
of information. they also have a chat room. there is always someone in
there.
