Question about protein

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help with a protein
question.. I have a hard time doing my 40g minimum to a preferebly
80g of protein that my doctor recommends and would so much like to
take it in a PILL form, so does anybody take any protein pills you
can recommend to me? the powder my doc recommended just does not
agree with me nor do the protein bars.In looking around the web for
protein pills I found one place that had 2000 but now I recently
found out that it is mg and not g’s so now I am more confused than
ever!!! please help :) Wildflower

2000 mgs are 2g - which means that to get your 80gms a day, you’ll
need to take 40 of them.

What protein did your doc recommend? Some of their intentions are
good, but they don’t have as much experience as various kinds of
protein.

I use a protein that tastes very good - get it at www.vitalady.com
- and you can order samples from her, if you’re not sure.

I usually do 1 scoop of the Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Stack chocolate
and 1 scoop of the Champion Proscore 100 chocolate. Mix with 6 oz
of water. Occasionally I’ll throw in some ice, usually use one of
those cheapie little hand blenders that are run on batteries. This
tastes just like chocolate milk to me. If anyone is interested, I

can look up a URL for the blender when I get back home - it fits
in my purse.

Hi pam,
The protein powder the doctor recommended is called nitro-tech, its by
muscletech and it is 20 g’s per scoop, so I have been doing 2 scoops like she
said she does each day, but it makes me kinda sickly feeling, don’t know how to
describe it but I have to lay down for a bit after drinking it and I just hate
it sooooooo much I wish there was some pill form that would get me enough
protein as I just don’t eat enough food!! maybe someone out there has a magic
pill for us post ops huh?? well I can dream anyways!!

Well at first I was thinking the same thing, but the doc recommended this one
because it is so low in carbs an sugar so I just don’t know!!! the label gives
the supplements as per ONE scoop: calories 110,total carb 3 g, sugars 2 g,
protein 20 gram, I usually make the drink with the 2 scoops but then it will
make me ill and I will still be choking it down(literally) it takes me a few
hours to get it in too… other than this protein problem I would say I would do
this all over in a second!! thanks and talk to you soon, Lori

Hi,
I know the protein powders are hard to get used to, but you will get use to
them. I hated them all in the biginning. I now just mix mine (2x a day) with
4 ozs of water and I love it. I actually crave them now. I suggest you go to
www.vitalady.com and order some samples. This way, you can try them out
without spending a ton of money. I bet you will find one you like that is low
in carbs and tastes great. I use Optimum Whey in the Double Rich Chocolate
flavor. I have heard others rave about Whey Stack and Pro Score powders.
Also, you can purchase sugar-free flavored syrups to make the shakes taste
good. Cookie-Dough flavor is a good one to add to vanilla or chocolate
flavored shakes. There is also a liquid protein called Proteinex. It has 15
grms of protein per 2 tablespoons. It’s not that pleasant tasting, but it get
the job done quickly. Just keep trying and you will find one you can live
with or can’t live without! Good luck!
