I just found out today that I am approved so my new surgery date is
Feb 17 this Monday…

Thats wonderful Cindy Im so happy for you!! Tell me what doctor is doing it
and where you live and what hospital. Please keep in touch and good luck to
you.

congrats! Take you chapstick, because your lips will be really dry.
And if you’re having an open surgery, you might want to take a pair
of wooden or plastic tongs, which you can wrap with toilet paper
when you use the facilities… That’s so that you don’t have to bend
over so far afterwards.
We’ll look forward to hearing from you when you get back home.

I RECEIVED MY SURGERY INSTRUCTION PACKET TODAY AND I HAVE TO HAVE ONLY FLUIDS
STARTING 6-1, MY SURGERY IS scheduled for 6-3-03. I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE
WITH MY SURGEON AND NUTRITIONIST, I MET WITH THEM LAST WEEK. I AM TAKING A
MEDICAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE FROM MY JOB UNTIL AFTER MY SURGERY SO I CAN MENTALLY
AND PHYSICALLY PREPARE MYSELF. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT I MADE THE RIGHT
DECISION. All THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN CRYING DUE TOO Emotional stress but I
cant’ figure out what is bothering me. Any suggestions? My family and my
work are supportive. But I think because I’ve had to wait so long (1 year &
1/2) I probably feel impatient or just overwhelmed with life. I am actually
up to 8.3 miles on my treadmill. When I started I was at 1 minute then 3
minutes struggling. Even though I have a great supportive husband, I still
need the support from those who have already had WLS. I feel sometimes that
no matter how supportive Richie (my husband) is, maybe he doesn’t understand
my deepest feelings. We have been together for 8 years and married since
June 29, 02 and our communication seems to get better on a daily basis. He
use to keep certain things to himself but we talk about everything that
concerns each other and our lives, HE IS EVEN getting better with talking to
me ABOUT THESE SITUATIONS. WE ARE COMMUNICATING!!!! Thank God.
I really don’t feel it is my imagination. I use to feel left out a while back
but now we take everything we have to deal with hand in hand. He knows what
I FEEL AND MY WORRIES he sees and I know where he is coming from. This feels
so good. He is so supportive that he even fell in love with me and seems to
understand my problem with my weight and depression and he wants the best for
me. My poor sweetie is on workers comp dealing with his back pain and 3
bulging disks on top and 4 bulging disks on the bottom. A couple of days
AGO I FELT THAt he was mad at ME BUT TODAY WE hAD A LONG TALK AND He
EXPLained to me that he is worried that we are both out of work.
(me:disability & him: workers comp) and that he honestly felt that my
depression will be helped considerable if I was aT WORK DOING MY JOB. I KNOw
RIGHT NOW I CANNOT FULFILL MY 8 HOUR JOB in Accounts Receivable, taking in
all the monies , inputting them into the correct baNK Accounts and
depositing them directly to the BaNK. MY BOSS (THE OWnER) IS VERY SUPPORTIvE
AND UNDERSTANDS THat I am taking a medicaL LEAVE OF absence aND I WiLL
REMAIN ON HIS INSURANCE. AT First I WAS VERY totally CONFUSED AND NOT
TRUSTNG MY EmPLOYER BUT NOW I SEE HE iS TOTAlly FOr THe WLS AND WILL CONTINUE
TO Pay my insurance so I can have WLS and after care. <My job will be there
for me when I return in 6 months.

4 months and i finally got approved this morning!!! im so happy! once
i get a surgery date i will let you all know!

Well, I’m 56, so I’m another one who had it late. Congratulations on your
preop weight-loss and I hope your postop weight-loss is all you wish.

you are too!! Well, good luck and soon you’ll be on the "losing" side. I had
my surgery done 3-07-03 and I’ve already lost 22 pounds!!!! Yeah, "HAPPY
