Looks like you have some waiting time. You should find out if your surgeon
requires you to lose weight before surgery. Some of them make you lose 10%.
If he does you should go have your weight documented with your regular Dr
or the surgeons office and get started. That way when your consultation
comes you have already jumped that hurdle. Some Drs want you to get started
on an exercise program too to get your body ready for surgery. Good luck!

Hi Shelley,
I’m not to sure if I have to go on some kinda weight loss program, I
really don’t think that you have to because no one else has mentioned
it who has had surgery with the Dr. I’m going too. Thanks for the
insight though. The wait here in Canada in typically 2 or more years,
there is just no doctors that want to perform this surgery. I was
told they make less money and every province here is trying to get it
cut out of health care. I just look at it this way, I’ve been fat my
whole life (22yrs) whats a few more. The wait will be well worth the
reward in the end. I’ve heard of people who have waited 2 years and
then there surgery gets cancelled becasue of health care cuts. I
pray everyday hoping that will never happen to me.
Talk to you later
