Angel Report for Erin Scheck

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

I just spoke with John, her DH. She had her surgery and she came through it
well - it was 2.5 hrs, and right now she is in a bit of discomfort — I’m
thinking from her drain. But she’s doing just fine. She’s still in intensive
care, but that’s only because they didn’t have a bed available for her in a
"special ward" - not because she really needs to stay in intensive care. He
was enthusiastic, and on his way home.

Angel report

Wednesday, January 11th, 2006

Called Erin Scheck last night and she is now no-mail, and was on her last
evening before surgery. The doc has her on a liquid evening meal, so she was
trying to avoid mealtime. She was very up and did not sound at all worried.
If you have a moment to think about it, I know she would appreciate a brief
prayer as she goes into surgery at 10am Mountain Daylight Time.
I’ll check with the hospital tonight, and will get back with you tomorrow.

Range of Food

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

I was wondering if anyone knew how much food i am supposed to be eating. I had
my bypass done in November. I just want to see how much others were eating
around 5 1/2 months out? I dont want to be eating too little. And my hair seems
to be falling out more rapidly than usual. I know its common for hair loss, but
at this rate, i will be bald by the time it is supposed to stop. Not only that,
but i want to make sure i am on the right track.
Any suggestions. How much were you eating at 5 1/2 months out? How much are you
eating now and how far along are you? ALSO can anyone give me sample menu of
what their diet consists of in a day and how much they are eating of whatever it
is they are eating?
Thanks, you will help me so much in determining what i am supposed to be doing. :-) Melissa

Fwd: [Obesity Surgery Support Group] what! no carbonated drinks?

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

Erin,
I don’t know how long you’re supposed to go without drinking carbonation.
I recently met someone who was a year out who drinks cokes. I on the other
hand don’t plan on ever going back to drinking anything with carbonation. (I
wasn’t a big soft drink drinker before the surgery) And I don’t crave a big
ol’ coke. (actually that sounds nasty to me). I’m quite happy with my
water, sugar-free tang, and crystal lite (hate the raspberry peach *ick*).
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful in answering your question.

noticed that carbonated drinks are a no no?? For how long..i like this flavored
water..and only because its carbonated..i am a carbonation FREAK..I could drink
that water all day..but plain water..eh..could care less..lol. So how long
