Lost…. And found!

Tiff,

I don’t mean to be trite or flippant in my subject line. But, you are
halfway home to finding peace, fulfillment, satisfaction, and true help
by admitting to yourself, to others, and to God that you are lost. Many
people’s lives are spent to one degree or another trying to prove to
themselves, to their parents, and yes, even to God, that they are not
lost, and can find their own way home, thank you very much! In some
ways, it takes a special gift from God to even be able to see and admit
that we are lost and in need of help. The psychology of this world will
hear your hurt, your lostness, your predicaments, and try to tell you
that you aren’t to blame, that others are responsible and guilty for
making you the way you are. An entire industry is built upon telling me
that I am not at fault, and pointing the accusing finger of blame at
others.

I am the father of seven children, the oldest being 27, and the youngest
being 16. Four boys and three girls. By God’s grace, I am still married
to the same wife, and all of our children still love and respect us and
each other. I don’t take any credit for that at all, and I share it
just so you have a little perspective on whom is offering opinions on
your life. I don’t think it is best for me to address some of the
personal issues you raised in an open public forum, unless that is what
you want. I looked to see if your e-mail address was included, but
couldn’t find it. I will say one thing, and this can be of benefit to
anyone reading it. It is a verse that focuses on one very critical
issue. It says, "Seek first the kingdom of God, and after that all
things will be added to you." If there are things you desire, some of
which we all have yearnings for, such as peace, love, and happiness,
the world has it’s offering of answers and solutions it readily
provides. But those are destined to fail. God wants to fill the vacuum
that we all have in our hearts. I found my life when I gave up on
myself, and realized by His allowing me to realize, and turned to God
for help, for forgiveness, direction and comfort. The comfort and
answers that the world and it’s thinking will give you will only be
temporary, and will not ultimately satisfy. If you would like to
discuss this further, I would be honored to, and if not, I will pray
that God will work mightily and quickly in your life.

Danny
