Surgery coming up….

Monday, March 6th, 2006

Hi Everyone,

I hope we all had a safe and happy holiday. I am getting closer to my
surgery. Next Tuesday, July 15th. I have been really feeling not myself these
last
couple of days. It seems as if all I want to do is sleep. It has been soooo
darn hot. My best friend is moving to Kansas and won’t be here for my surgery.

I have a question to ask. I have had acrylic nails on for a while and my
own nails have grown out. I get my fills done about every three weeks along
with a pedicure. I was told to have no nail polish on the day of my surgery.
Do
you think that includes clear polish? Its probably a dumb question, I know.
Also, what else should I take to the hospital in my overnight bag? I’ll be
packing this weekend. Any suggestions, my mind feels so blank these days. It

Testing before surgery

Sunday, March 5th, 2006

I had some good news a couple of days ago. Aetna USHealthcare approved
me for the surgery, and I have a date set September 18th. Some of you
may remember that I had been approved with one surgeon, but he had
dropped Aetna as an approved Insurance carrier, so I had to start over
looking for a surgeon. The biggest problem with this, aside from the
obvious delay, is that medical tests only are valid for certain period
of time, at most 90 days. Well, because of the insurance delay, I will
probably have to go through most, if not all the tests again. To say
the least, this is a hassle, as well as a financial burden. It occurred
to me to ask Aetna to pay the co-pays for these second set of tests.
Has anyone any experience like this? My inclination is to think that
there is no way they would pay, and I might even have a hard time
getting them to pay their part on the second set of tests. I thought I
would ask anyway, since all they could say is "NO!".

Headaches

Thursday, March 2nd, 2006

Hello all,

I have a question about headaches. I suffered from severe migraines
before surgery and unfortunately am still having them. I woke up
this morning with one that has been tolerable but is getting worse
as the day goes on. My question is this, I can only take Advil
Migraine for my headaches (nothing else has any effect) but am not
allowed to swollow the pill intact (they are liquid filled capsules)
so I want to know how to take them. I know that I have to empty the
pill out but have tried this before and it makes my lips go numb
kind of like novicane and tastes awful. Any suggestions?

Lost…. And found!

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

Tiff,

I don’t mean to be trite or flippant in my subject line. But, you are
halfway home to finding peace, fulfillment, satisfaction, and true help
by admitting to yourself, to others, and to God that you are lost. Many
people’s lives are spent to one degree or another trying to prove to
themselves, to their parents, and yes, even to God, that they are not
lost, and can find their own way home, thank you very much! In some
ways, it takes a special gift from God to even be able to see and admit
that we are lost and in need of help. The psychology of this world will
hear your hurt, your lostness, your predicaments, and try to tell you
that you aren’t to blame, that others are responsible and guilty for
making you the way you are. An entire industry is built upon telling me
that I am not at fault, and pointing the accusing finger of blame at
others.

LOST………

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

I REALLY don’t know what to do at this point of my life. My stepmom
and I are not getting along at all. For a while, I was working with
her and her business. Now, I’ve been dropped from their little
business because of this fight we’ve had, and I lost her trust and
respect for me.

You see, when I get frustrated or angry, I tend to just walk off
without telling anyone. Of course I do come back, but not for a
while. I know this is one of my bad habbits that I have to break,
because it gets me into a lot of trouble, and it gets everyone
worried as well.

I’m trying to lose weight. I’ve had the Gastric Bypass Weight Loss
Surgery. The highest weight I’ve been was 550 lbs. I went in for
surgery at 397 lbs on June 7 of last year. Now I’m down to 250 lbs.
