Hi, Pam ! Thank you for welcome to your group.I had surgery 7-25-03 at the time
of surgery i was weight 287lbs.six day later 267lbs three week later 257lbs i
don’t have a new weight now until the next visit.i just start walking to help
the weight lose tell me more about the symptom of GB problems.

Sounds like you’re on your way. My surgery and recover was entirely
uneventful. Usually, if you get through the initial problems with leaks (a
very small percentage have them), then the next thing they look for is a
stricture. Tends to happen about 4 weeks out, if it’s going to, and it’s just
where the stoma (or the opening to the intestine) gets too narrow. If you
find that you’re having problems with holding food down, then that’s one thing
to check,,,, you check it with an endoscopy, and if it happens, they can
usually blow a little balloon up and stretch the hole back out. You want to
be sure to watch your labs and see if they start trending downward. My PCP
always says my labs are "within range"- I ask for a copy of the labs and keep
a spreadsheet with them on, so that I can see if they’re falling or rising.
Be sure to get your supplements,protein and water in.
I’m sure you’re chewing your food to liquid… and using very small bites.
That’s important, and not drinking with your meal. (No need to wash the food
right out of your pouch.)
If you start having burning pain,or if water starts to taste metallic, it
might be sign of an ulcer. We want to get those treated before they get bad,
so don’t ignore any problems.
