Hi, NB, and congratulations on your upcoming rebirthday! I would add
to Pam's list of vitamins, protein drinks and yogurt: sugar-free
pudding and popsicles, cream of wheat and creamed soups to get you
through the first diet stage. Later I added cottage cheese, refried
beans, thin sliced lunch meat, cheese and peanut butter but by then I
was ready for an outing so looked forward to going to the grocery
store. I also found that I didn't like water much (hard to explain
but it felt heavy in my tummy) but when flavored I had no problem so
Crystal Light or other sugar free non-carbonated drinks might be
good, too. FYI I also found that sleeping in my recliner was most
comfortable for the first week; others liked lots of pillows to
surround them in their bed. Hope this helps! Keep in touch.

By the time I got home I had found several protein powders I liked, I had
all my vitamins and minerals set up, I had a fridge full of SF jello,
yoghurt in small containers, and other foods I could eat in my closet. I had
started the walk away the pounds tapes to get me in better physical shape. I
preloaded with protein (4-5 drinks a day, plus 2 meals) so that I would heal
faster.

My re-birth is on October 1, 2003. I am wondering what supplies,
both nutritional and medicinal that I will need upon my arrival home
from the hospital. I realize that I will be on a liquid then pureed
diet for the weeks following the surgery but really want to do theis
the "correct way" to use the gastric bypass tool to it's fullest.

NB
Present weight 350
<!--more-->
BMI 45
Height 6'3
Diabetic, High Blood Pressure

Thanks for all your support and responses.
