<description>You¡Çve done a major change to your system AND you¡Çve changed your
diet. The diarrhea might hang around for a bit, but hopefully will
be gone in a week or so. Mine went fairly quickly when I got back
onto even semisoft foods. Congrats on your surgery and on getting
through it so well! Walking is good - it helps with the clots, so
be sure to walk around the house, too! My drains were removed
before I left the hospital, so I can¡Çt speak to that. They¡Çre
certainly an annoyance, but you¡Çd much rather have the fluids being
drained out of there than gathering inside your body! Consider them
practice for your tummy tuck &#60;G&#62;.

I¡Çm glad things went well.

_____

Well My surgery was scheduled for 7am Tuesday 11/18. I had to be at
the
hospitl for 5am. My hubby and I sat in the lobby till 5:45am. They
then brought me
to my room and had me put my gown on. Then they weighed me. Then I
had to get
on the bed and they took me to the holding area. there they hooked
up my iv
and gave me some blood thinners! I remember talking to my hubby and
mom and the
guy came in and said Im gonna give you some stuff to relax you.
Because at
this point I could not lie still..My nerves were getting the best of
me. Well
that was the last thing I remember except for a warm blanket being
put over me in
the OR. My mom and hubby said I talked to them for about 10 minutes
after the
shot but I dont remember a thing. The next thing i remember after
the shot
was them saying &#34;Wake up Mrs Hernandez you did great&#34;..LOL Then I
was rolled to
recovery. They kept trying to wake me up! FINALLY I made it to the
ICU and
woke enough to ask for my family! They let them in immediatly. The
nurse told my
husband that the surgery was &#34;TEXT BOOK&#34; except for the time it
took. We were
originally told 2-2 1/2 hours and it took 1 hour and 10 minutes.
At about 6pm tuesday night I was ready to get up and walk but they
would only
let me get up and move to the chair. Thats where i slept the rest of
the
night..It was MUCH more comfortable than the bed. There was another
lady next to
me in ICU who had the same procedure done. Poor thing was nauseated
and
throwing up. I felt sooo sorry for her! She ended up sleeping in the
chair also.
The next morning we were sent for upper GI's. The other girl went
first and
the dr who did the GI told the nurse she had a small trinkle of a
leakage. To
keep her off food and stuff..SO now my heart is racing because we
used the same
dr. They did my upper GI and I was told it was &#34;BEAUTIFUL&#34;. I was
then
brought back to ICU for breakfast of crystal light and sorbet..I ate
neither. When
we got ready to go to my room they were gonn wheel me in the wheel
chair and I
said &#34;PLEASE LET ME WALK&#34; so I did. It was a pretty good ways but i
was ready
for it! Once I was in my room I was up and walking like every hour!
I was
able to come home Thursday morning and all has been fine except the
drain tube
hurts REALLY bad and the diarrea is TERRIBLE!

Now for my questions. Is it normal to have trouble getting all the
protein in
the first couple of days? And does anyone mix their protein drink
with
anything else to cut the taste? I have a Syrup that i have to take
4TBS of a day
plus a powder that i have to have 2 scoops a day and the protein
drink. YEsterday
I got it all except for about 4 oz of my protein drink because I was
having
to mix it with Sugarfree koolaid or crystal lite to be able to
tolerate
it....also how long does the diarrea lasts??

Thanks for listening to my story,
Crystal

<description>After the initial days of my surgery, I worried more about getting my water
in than about my protein. To this day, I still would rather drink than eat.

Good luck :)

I can't really say anything on the drain because mine was removed before I
left the hospital.
