advice
ok…I have been walking most of my 7 weeks post but I am bored with it so
for the last 4 or 5 days I have been riding the exercise bike. I was walking 2-3
miles a day and I am now riding the bike 4-5 miles a day. I want to soon be
doing both but I am not able to do that yet. My question is until then which is
better to do..Just walking or the bike? I was thinking the bike would work
some of my problem areas better..Like my wings (flabby underarm), lower stomach,
legs and butt…

I personally think it’s a personal preference, BUT I feel that I get a
better overall workout walking over biking. (Plus my butt goes numb on the
recumbent bike seat after 30 minutes.) I use one of the treadmill’s
programs (usually for weightloss) and then change my skill level with a time
of 60 minutes. After the 60 minutes of the treadmill, I’ll go lift weights
for another 90 minutes (alternating days for upper and lower body workouts
so that I give my muscles a rest.) Then I get on the bike for a cooldown of
20 minutes. (Really I get bored on the bike if I sit too much longer
too..lol)
For me walking is a better workout, as I tend to swing my arms. Plus I can
also add wrist/ankle weights when I walk. The bike, I just kinda sit and
pedal with no arm movement.
But Like I said, I think it’s a personal preference.
Good luck and keep
it up.

While walking have a Walkman (pocket radio or CD player to keep the pace. I
have been walking for almost a yr. Using 2-LB. weights in each hand while
walking will help w/ the batwings. Just keep them moving in pace w/ feet. Also
doing some aerobic type exercises. This info I got from the trainer at my gym
