Thank you for the reassurance

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Thank you all so much! I have received countless encouraging emails
in response to my `need reassurance’ post. Long story short, I had
postponed my surgery because of pressure from loved ones. After
reading the fist few replies to my request I felt better about my
original decision to have surgery. After a couple of days of soul
searching and so many encouraging responses, I rescheduled my surgery
back to the original date, 12/30/2003 at Evergreen hospital… this
time all I ask is that you think of me in your prayers and wishes
that everything goes smoothly.

Thank you all again!! Shay

I am worried

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Hello all Merry christmas to you! I had my surgery nov 17th I
have lost about 30 lbs I don’t know if that is good or not. I am
worried because,I am able to hold more food than my book says
I should be able to. I don’t eat alot, but I know it is more than the
book says. I am not sure what I am supposed to be feeling, I
have alot of gas and turmoil in my stomach, but I am not sure
when that full feeling hits. I want this surgery to work, but I am
afraid maybe the dr made my pouch too big, is that possible? I
am also supposed to drink alot of water, but I am afraid it will
make my stomach even larger. My weightloss is slow, anyone
have any suggestions to ease my mind? Thank You all so much,
and prayers to you all. Betty p.s. I mainly eat, a small cup of
beans, later, 1 cup or more of creamed soup, pudding, and
sugar free popsicles.

CPAP Machine & Prayers needed

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

Need opinions..I have a brand new *used two nights* CPAP machine..My
insurance paid there part and I have to pay the remaining $600….Here are my
questions….

Do most insurances not cover the CPAP’s 100% and would it be cheesy to try to
sell it to someone else who like me their insurance doesnt cover the whole
machine….

Sounds good to me but my brain is fried…

ALSO MY BROTHER IN LAW IS IN REAL NEED OF SOME PRAYERS…
My 36 year old brother in law had TWO massive heart attacks Friday night. We
have been at the hospital in CCU all weekend. Things are looking better but
the artery that was blocked was the main coronary artery *which supplies 60% of
the oxygen to the heart* and they dont know how much damage he is gonna have

Its getting closer

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Well went for all of my pre op on friday and all went well. I was
surprised that it took all day. By the time I got home I was
exhausted. As far as I know everything went well so I am still on the
scedule for the 23rd. Nine more days. I am so excited , Im tired but
am up half the night thinking of my new life. Did you all go through
this too. I know I have to get some sleep because if I dont it will
make my fibromyalgia flare. If that happens I will be in alot more
pain before I even get to the hospital. Im sure that this is the
answer for me. I cant wait to get healthier. Will keep you posted.

Repeated posts

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Someone mentioned the annoyance of getting repeated posts, if I
understood correctly. I am sure you will get multiple answers on this
one. However, when you first signed on to the list, you were given a
choice as to how you were to receive the posts. One of the choices is
"Digest". In my experience that is the preferable way of receiving
posts from a mail list. I can’t imagine getting all the individual
posts from this list. The annoyance in the digest version is that it
seems that most people seem to not be conscious of the appropriate
procedure for replying to the digest, and end up replicating the entire
digest in their response, and the digest ends up being ten times longer
than it need be. When you get the digest, delete ALL except the
particular phrase or idea to which you are replying. There is no need
to repeat the entire post, much less the entire digest! I am not sure
who the moderator of the list is, but they can tell you how to get back
to the point where you can change your preferences to Digest version.
