<description>Crystal, if you are proximal, two a day is fine. You're probably
not absorbing all 35 grams, but that's ok. When I do my drinks, I
do two 50cc scoops of powder (regardless of what size comes with the
container), which is around 30 grams of protein. 3 months out is a
time when a lot of people hit plateaus. I don't know about your
thyroid meds but do know that certain kinds are better than others
for us. I'll be happy to ask around, if you're interested. I would
bet that you will need to have the thyroid tested and - do you have
an endocrinologist? - work with him on your dosages - since the
surgery itself will affect how much we actually get out of the meds
we take.

&lt;!--more--&gt;

For those of you who say you drink 6/8 protein drinks a day.First of
all When
did you have surgery and how much weight have you lost (Just curious
if the
added protein is helping from others i have talked to...even though
I know
everyone is different) second Do you mean scoops or actual drinks?
because I mix
mine 2 scoops at a time (35 grams of protein) and drink 2a day Which
is 70
grams of protein. Plus what I eat in foods! I am required to get 80
by my
surgeon. If its a day where I can not eat as much I do 2 1/2 of
these shakes..which
is equal 5 scoops of protein powder (87.5 grams of protein)...Should
I increase
this? The weight loss has slowed down A LOT. I am 3 months out and I
am
loosing on average 3 pounds a week right now.

Also, Anyone know if i had to take thyroid meds before surgery and
have not
been put back on them yet if that would slow the weight loss down? I
am waiting
on a call back from my surgeon. That was one of the questions I had
yesterday
but the teeny bopper didnt know the answer to that one either!!
Thanks...You guys are the best!!
