Few Questions!

1st. I am 4 months out..Anyone experience any "fluttering" in their stomachs?
Reminds me a lot of when I was pregnant with my daughter!!

2nd. i have this burning sensation in my lower stomach on the left side when
i move a certain way. Kind of like a pulled muscle but it doesnt hurt all the
time. Just when i stretch my leg out real far or last night when I threw up it
hurt really bad. Anyone experience this? I have a call in to the dr but I
have to wait for him to call me back. (Have to remember this is the surgeon I
have not seen since the day of my surgery)..Not even post op in the hospital!

Thanks In advance,
Crystal

Fluttering may be gas, or just movement in the intestines. The pain I can
only guess - maybe an adhesion getting stretched, or some sort of hernia???
I’d be more likely to think adhesion. You haven’t been doing anything that
could cause an ulcer, have you? It’s good you’re getting it checked out.

    Pam,

Just out of curiousity, what kind of things could cause an ulcer? I’d like to
make sure I avoid them. :-)

The biggest thing to avoid is the meds that are known to be "hard on the
stomach" - particularly if you’re an ulcer producer just by nature. I’m at
work now, so I don’t have the list of meds to avoid, but will post them again
when I get home. I don’t think there’s a lot we can do if an ulcer is caused
by bacteria, however, we can avoid stressing out our little pouches <G>.

From what little I know, Melva, it sounds to me like adhesions. But I’m not a
doctor, and don’t want to mislead you. Your incision sounds as though it has
keloided. Usually if you have a hernia you will find a bulge. A hernia
happens when the muscle tissues separate allowing the underlying "things"
(boy, don’t you love my medical talk <G>?) to pop through.

Do we have any hernia people on the list that can be more specific than I can?
I know I had a paraesophogeal hernia at the time of my GBS surgery that had to
be repaired, but I didn’t even know I had it!!!! So far I’ve had no incisional
    hernias.

    Pam,
Thanks for the info on incisions. I learned a new word: Keloided! I guess I
could make an appointment for my pcp. See what he says. My surgeon moved to
    Texas.
    Thanks again,
