Reached mini goal
Hi Everyone,
Just want to share. I’m so happy, have reached a mini goal. I’m under 200.
Haven’t seen that since I was 18. Along time ago. Am 4 months out and now weigh
198. It’s a great feeling and love getting into smaller sizes. Did great at
first but now have a little trouble eating. Foods that use to agree don’t
always agree now, especially chicken. Cereal, eggs, cheese, and peanutbutter
seem to be my best foods. Best decision I have ever made. So, for all of you
thinking about or are about to have the surgery go for it. Believe me you’ll
never regret it. Take that second chance on life and live it to the fullest.
Good luck to everyone else.

Congrats Gerri on your mini goal of getting below 200. WOW!
I can’t wait to be where you are. I know for me it has been over 28 yrs
since I weighed below 200. It is so nice to see the posts from you people that
have had the surgery and are so happy and encouraging to those of us who
haven’t.

Hi Miki,
Thanks for your reply. It’s always nice to talk to new people. When are you
having your surgery or are you still undecided. Believe me it’s well worth it.
I keep telling my back surgeon that I can never thank him enough for sending me
to Dr. Afram. He is a real blessing as well as an excellent doctor. I never
thought I would see the day that I would be under 200 and wearing smaller
clothes again. It has been 28 yrs. for me as well. But, it’s happening and I
love every minute of it. Even the days I don’t feel so well or have some
trouble eating certain foods I weigh out the pros and cons and still say it’s
worth it. I’d do it all over again if I had too. Keep in touch and let me know
what’s happening with you. Good luck and take care.
Chat soon,
Gerri

Gerri, I have done my psych exam (Took all day). Passed it with flying
colors. Dr. Gold said I really had it together and had my priorities straight.
Got my nutrition clinic and group class on Thursday. Then I have to schedule
my lab and ultra-sound. I am having it done at a military hospital and they
have certain requirements I have to get done. Then I go back to Surgery Clinic
and they put me on a waiting list. They have so many casualties and all from
Iraq that they schedule us when they can. He said it would be 2-6 months. I
am so excited I can hardly contain myself. Got to tell my gen med dr today
(the one who recommended me to the surgery clinic and he was as excited as I am.
Will chat with you again later. So good of someone to answer my e-mail. You
keep up the good work. Can’t wait to be where you are. Miki
