<description>Welcome, Andrea. You will find that there are knowledgeable docs
and conversely, unknowledgeable docs, in all specialties. Just as
you will find docs with prejudices against the obese - it's not PC
to admit it, but there are docs out there who are prejudiced. I
don't know if your gyn can refer you, my gyn did a great letter
referring me to my surgeon, but my insurance still wasn't going to
pay because I didn't have all their little rules down pat - I have
lost weight hundreds of time in my life. But it never stayed off.
Jennie Craig and LA weight loss are fine, but the issue is not
losing the weight, it's keeping it off. With the surgery we have a
tool that will help us to do this. But it's only a tool, we still
will have to work.

&lt;!--more--&gt;

I recently went to a new Dr for a physical and I spoke to her about
my weight and the history etcbackto childhood. She was real skinny
and although she is probably a good dr it worried me when she said 2

patients lost their weight on LA weight loss systems as well
asJennie Craig. She said she had one gastric bypass patient who had
it reversed. I really didn't know what to think. She also said just
eat protein the size of your palm and that whole thing. Lord knows
I've been at this long enough to know this. She told me I won't be
able to eat like I did before and I told her that would certainly be

the lesser of the 2 evils-I don't care I just want my life to be
healthy and less weight to deal with. My gynocologist who is in the
same medical group thought bypass could be a good solution for me.
She knows me a long time and knows it is real difficult for me to
lose weight. I have over 120 lbs to lose so I am a candidate and
even have an appointment with a top surgeon who is very experienced.

I don't know whether this new internist was just trying to check me
out as far as my desire for this or if she just doesn't agree with
it. I will need her to refer me to the surgeon. Should I talk to her

about her feelings and my own or call my gyno who knows her and me
well. Can a gyno refer you for this-I will have Oxford freedom soon.

Maybe I should see a different Dr. Any help would be appreciated
