Coffee

Can someone please remind me why we aren’t supposed to drink coffee? Is it just
because of the caffeine or is it some other reason. And if so, why is caffeine
more harmful to GP patients.

I suppose I could call my doctor, but this is much easier.

Thanks!

I think the issue is that caffeine is supposed to cause your insulin to
rise, and thus make you hungrier - So some say decaf is ok. I understand
that the tannins in tea are supposed to be problematic for calcium
    absorption. <sigh>

So I drink decaf, and am still drinking decaf tea. If my osteoporosis gets
worse (which I’ll know in October when I get my DEXAscan), given my MASSIVE
calcium supplementation, I guess I’ll have to give up my tea.<double sigh>

Also, "brown drinks" are supposed to be a problem for people who make
certain kinds of kidney stones… That would be coffee, tea, colas, etc.
I’m not sure what in coffee and tea contributes to kidney stones, but could
look it up on the web.
