When I get home how is it??
Everyone in my family says when I get home from hospital I’ll need
alot of rest etc-I know I have to take it a little easy but I don’t
expect to need people taking care of me or will be bedridden. Can
you drive-I’m having the lap not open unless there is a prob. Also
my sister in law eho had this a year ago says I should be seeing a
ton of specialists endo, cartiologist, gastro, pulmonary(I am seeing)
etc-doesn’t this depend on what your primary and surgeon thinks-I am
like 10 yaers younger than her and she had a host of health problems
which I don’t-doesn’t that enter into the equasion as well???

My experience is that the surgeon (and possibly your insurance) will
let you know which tests you need to do. I had lap surgery and was
back to driving as soon as I was off the pain meds, which was about
2 days after I got home. I had no at-home care once I got home,
just was sure to be stocked up before surgery so I could get a SF
jello out of the fridge , or dump some broth into a mug and
microwave it. I did want rest (after all, being in the hospital is
NOT restful <G>), but was back at work in about 10 days and could
have been back earlier, if I’d wished, but we had a Thanksgiving
holiday in there <G>. We’re all different, of course, but this was
my experience.

I think so——what I am reading from post is that everyone is different
(kind of like child birth LOL) I think your doctor and surgeon are taking your
blood test etc. and will refer you to any specialist you know. Relax and know
that you may very well be just fine but if you need help at least you have
sympathetic people who will cater and be there for you.
In my surgeons office I met one woman there who had surgery like 5 days
earlier and was there to ask her doctor to release her for work because she felt
so well——–And then of course there are those that need more ——so you
will just need to wait to see how fastl you heal —– I am glad you are
healthy and not going to a lot of specialist!
