Plastic Surgery Cost

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

hello all…i am 19 months post-op and have lost 120 lbs. i am
about to start looking into getting plastic surgery. i need to know
the cost of the following:

Arms (they cannot be tucked, i was told the excess fat has to be cut-
off)

breast reduction w/implants

tummy tuck (my insurance may pay for this, not sure yet)

my insurance is GHI. has anyone had these procedures paid for by
them? also, i live in NYC. does anyone know of a great doctor that
would not charge that much? thanks

Who was I? Who am I?

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Prior to my weight loss surgery the only way I would go into
Manhattan was by car. I would have to park in a parking lot near
wherever I would have to go. If I had to park more than one block
away I would need someone to drop me off since I could barely walk.
Yesterday was the first time I traveled by railroad into Manhattan.
Wow, no longer trapped to the confines of my car. Things have sure
changed since the last time I traveled by railroad into the city. I
needed help with the ticket machine and so forth. I asked the person
how do I purchase a ticket since I never traveled by railroad in many
years. They assisted me in purchasing a ticket and I was off on my
way. I felt like a child for the first time traveling my railroad.
Walking is no longer a problem since I can now walk six miles. When I
arrived at Penn station I felt like a tourist. I walked around
looked at the stores and was part of the hustle and bustle of the
city.

VERY IMPORTANT POST OP INFORMATION! PLEASE READ!!

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

Hi, My name is Louise and I had a lap GB on march 26, 2001. My MOM
also had it done the same day. The doctors will tell you what
medications to avoid–but they really did not STRESS it to us how
important it was to avoid them at ALL COSTS. When you get that list
of Medications, MAKE SURE YOU DISTRIBUTE THEM TO ALL OFF YOUR OTHER
DOCTORS!!!!!! Because my mother’s primary doctor prescribed her HIGH
doses of Motrin she developed an ulcer. Every one ignored her
symptoms, telling her she just needed to EAT because she was "too
thin"–what a joke–never thought we’d hear those words. The ulcer
actually grew so large that it ate through her stomach wall and began
to eat at an artery–she died on mat 21, 2004 from a severe GI bleed.
PLEASE, PLEASE Heed this information and make your other doctors
aware that we are "specail patients". Too many general Practioners
and interists do not know enough about our needs that there is
soooooooo much room for errors. I hope this information helps someone

Quantity of intake…

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

I have a question regarding the amount of food we should be able to eat before
being/feeling full. I’m curious about what others have heard from their
Doctors, etc. My doctor said that the most I should eat is a half cup of food
at a time, I’ve heard other doctors say less than that, and others say more.
What have you guys heard? Just curious.

Also, I find myself MORE hungry around my period…anybody else get that?

Thanks,
