Bread???

I have some questions. I have finally made it into 2 months post op,
and have been trying different foods. I know hot spicy foods is not
my best friend anymore, corn chips is a no no, and I believe pickles,
like hamburger pickles is my total enemy. I’ve learned a lot since
eating solid food, and what I can have a lot of like salad, salad is
really good and if you’re hungry then you eat a lot of it. Well,
I’ve learned after having been scoped and making the stoma bigger I
did much better for about two weeks. Then that second week, I wasn’t
able to eat bread of any kind, toast, white bread or even wheat
bread. I am assuming it’s because it expands, is this true? If
anyone knows this, please let me know. When I became sick Dr. Bolar
wanted to do a scope again and I didn’t want too, finally that
evening I was able to eat something without it coming back to visit
me. On a lighter note, I’ve lost 46 pounds in almost 8 weeks, but
haven’t weighed in for the 8th weeks, so 46 pounds in 7 weeks

actually. I feel soooo good, I’m a brand new woman. If anyone has
any comments or advice please let me know. Thanks Amanda

hmmm, if the problems are not caused by a re-narrowing of the stoma
(and if you’ve had it once, you can have it more than once..) then
all these foods may be ok for you later. We lose foods and gain
foods during the post-op period, as our pouches heal. I remember
eating a little green pepper about 2 weeks post-op, chewed it
really, really well, and it was just rental food. Came right back
up. But now, it’s no problem.

Congrats on the weight loss, Amanda, you’re doing well.
