Need some advice
I have not had surgery yet. My insurance and doctor requires I and
anyone who wants/needs the surgery to go through a certain process.
This includes, seeing a nutritionist at least 6 times, getting a
psych evaluation, meeting with a physical trainer, and losing 10% of
your current weight. I have the 6th appointment with the
nutritionist scheduled and have done everything else but lose the
10%. I have lost 7 lbs but then gained it back. (If I could lose
the weight easily I wouldn’t need to go for the surgery, right!) One
of the nurses at the clinic told me that as long as I am making an
effort at losing the weight, the surgeon will do the surgery.
Anyway, I need some advice. I’m trying to lose the weight and I know
I am going to have to make some major changes after I do the the
surgery. My problem is I don’t know how to grocery shop and then
what kind of meals to prepare. I live by myself and I have always
just made pasta, hamburg, or got fast food, whether hoagies, burgers
and fries, whatever. I would do what is quick and easy.
The nutritionist isn’t much help. She is the small, never had an
ounce of fat on her kind of person that says "I don’t know why you
have so much trouble. It’s easy. Just preplan your meals."
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I want help with
a possible grocery list and meal planning from others that have been
through what I am going through.
Thank you,
Edith May
