advice needed
My husband is USMC retired and I had a horrible experience at a
civilian doctor on Monday and would really like some advise.
I waited 7 weeks to see a nuerologist for the pains in my head. We
drove over an hour and sat for awhile in the waiting room. When I
finally got into see Dr. Pilch I got lectured on seeing the doctor too
much at the tax payers expense. Hello…..I have cancer, seeing the
doctor seems to go along with that.
Dr. Pilch seems to think that Tricare and welfare are paid out of the
same funds. I was so furious, I still am. I tried to contact Tricare
and give feedback, but I couldn’t find a place on thier website for
that.
My Dad died after 30 years in the Navy from Agent Orange and my Hubby
did 20 years in the Marines…….he should have expressed
appreciation instead of scolding me.
I called the doctor that referred me to Dr. Pilch and let him know
what happened.
Thank you for your support,

Loriann, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. Some doctors are
just PITAs and this one seems to be part of that crew. Doesn’t make
it any easier for you to go through. Do you have an old Tricare
EOB? It should have a contact number - or on your insurance card, is
there a phone number? Call them, and I bet they’ll have an address
you can mail to. If you let the referring doctor know, then you’ve
done what you can to stop him from referring other patients, and
causing them to go through the same problems.
But you didn’t deserve to go through this, you’re right.

That behavior by Dr. Pilch is completely reprehensible. I would file a
complaint with the medical review board and send him a copy of the Hippocratic
oath. Perhaps he has forgotten why he became a doctor in the first place. Tell
your husband we appreciate his service and yours to our country.
