I have a question for everyone….
ok I m 18 months out from Open RNY .I have had almost no problems,just this last
few months (well from April 05 til now) I have been having pain when I eat it
feels like someone is in there stabbing methen it is like the food goes through
my pouch to the instenines(sp) the pain stops. well my surgeon has dones tests
after test and they all come back normal…to make it short here is the
question….where the pouch is attached to my inteines can it be leaking and
making my bowels back up…((OH YAH I forgot I went to the hospital last night
and they took xrays and the dr there said i was full of bowel((poop))sorry…on
my left side.so i was wondering could i have a small leak some where and that is
way i am throwing up alot and am alot sick to my pouch alot.he said it looks
like it is backed up. i go every day no i am not constapated(spelled wrong) so
here i go thinking again i thought maybe this could be the reason why…if i
have confussed anyone write me and i will tell you the
whole long story..it has been going on long time so it is a long boring
story.thanks for lettng me go on and on and on …………….

Stacy, what kind of tests? Have they done and endoscopy? (where they run
the tube down your throat?) This kind of pain sounds a lot like an ulcer,
which is not uncommon for us. Another thought might be an adhesion. I
doubt that it’s a leak at 18 months out (and there you’re more likely to
have intense pain in your shoulder. I’m full of poop, too. (Or I was when I
had the accident on my Segway and they did x-rays) I’m willing to be we are
ALL full of poop. Even when we go every day. My Theory is that one of the
ways that our body tries to "regulate" itself (get back to normal) in terms
of absorption is by slowing down our digestive track. But it really sounds
like an ulcer. Throwing up, nauseous. How does water taste? Metallic?
