<description>It's a good thing to call them the day you send in your paperwork to make sure
they receive it. Mine claimed they never recceived my first submission and I
lost six weeks for their screw up. They are not in a hurry to help you get
approved. Keep a copy of everything.

It's hard to believe, but you will not be hungry after the surgery. I'm three
months post op and I have to remind myself every day to eat. It becomes a
chore, but once you get in a routine, you'll be fine.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Brian in S FL

Congratulations to both of you on your successes so far! You have much
to be proud of, knowing that you're healthier, feeling better, and
&lt;!--more--&gt;
looking better!

Since my last post, I have had my initial consultation for Lap Band.
It wasn't as bad as I had thought, as my weight is 352. Since my
doctor's scales hadn't been able to weigh me in so long, I was certain
I was well over 380. It's funny, but I told the nurse who was doing my
BMI calculations that 352 was a relief! I had actually lost two pounds
since I went in the first time to start the process of paperwork. (I
think it was only because I hadn't eaten yet that day, but oh well!)

That leaves me with 180-200 pounds to lose. I know it comes off
quickly at first, and that is something I'm looking forward to!
Hopefully by this time next year, at least half of what needs to go
will be gone. I will miss eating Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners
this year, but it's a small price to pay considering the reward that
is in store!

So now I'm waiting for my insurance company to give me the go-ahead.
As you all know, it can take several weeks for that to happen. I've
been told by a friend of mine that he lit a fire under their butts by
calling them about a week after he filed his paperwork &#34;just to make
sure they had received it.&#34; :)

I hope to hear more about everyone's journey to their goals, and will
keep you informed of mine!
