<description>Hi when my weight loss get stalled or slows and I had my surgery May 17th and
have lost 100 pounds. but I spemd weeks at one weight. Sometimes I am
constipated, and some times I have to just go back to the stage 2 eating plan
where I have more protein and drink as much water as I can. I also have instant
oatmeal for breakfast the one package makes 1/2 cup. This seems to work for me.
Never any soda it makes your tummy bigger and you eat more. Diet koolaid the
cherry is good. And try to stay away from the pasta's and such. plain is best to
get back on track. Not fun but it works. and exercise as well. At least that is
what the doctor tells me. Good luck Marylou

I am 41, female and 4 months post op from r y bypass. I am feeling a
bit like a failure because my weight loss is so much slower than
everyone I've read about. I've lost 50 lbs in 4 months. Don't get me
wrong 50 lbs is great but a great deal less than most people have lost
with bypass.I have been stalled at this weight a couple of weeks. Any
&lt;!--more--&gt;
good advice to jump start the process?
Also any advice (or books you know of)to the anxious eater on how to
learn to control cravings or urges?

Thanks for the email. I am exercising 3x a week at curves. Its a
great place to go. I am really good about my supplements. water...
not so much, although I do try. In fact water is the only thing I
can drink, no ice tea or lemonade(crystal light) or anything it all
tastes sour.I am reading everything I can find on over eating and
its causes and cures. three books and three different plans. I will
experiment to find whats right for me.
I'm so glad I found this site. everyone is so nice. The company of
those in simular situations is comforting.

<description>Hi Elisa, welcome to the list!
The process for weight loss is done in steps - so it's not uncommon
to have a plateau or three before you're finished. At 4 months,
you've a long way to go before you're finished, as long as
you're &#34;following the plan.&#34;
How much water do you get a day?
What kind of exercise?
What supplements?
Are you doing protein drinks, and how are they made?

All those things are significant.

For me, controlling carbs is the only way I can control my appetite.
Sugar just sets off the cravings. When it's really bad, I have
another protein drink. At least then I know I'm getting nourishment!

<description>Hi. Although I have not personally experienced what you are going through, I
have rad that the plateau you have reached is temporary. Don't panic. Go back
to the basics of the protein shakes and the liquid diet (clear broths, sugar
free jello, etc...) This should jump start your body. Most important is your
water intake and exercise. Even if it is just a 30 minute walk, you have to get
your metabolism going. Give it a try for a couple of weeks and let us know how
you are doing.
