pardon the crosspost - re the recent virus alert
This morning I got on my computer to find that my ebay account had been
changed and I’d been locked out and that someone had pretended to be me and
authorized about $6,000 worth of payments to an address in Indonesia. I’ve
spent the last hour talking to ebay, paypal, and my credit card company. I
think I’ve got it straightened out. I’ve changed all my passwords.
If you have a paypal account or an ebay account, please check to be sure
there has been no unauthorized activity in the last 24 hours. Please change
all your passwords and security questions. I don’t KNOW that this
spam/virus was the cause of this problem, but I’ve never responded to any
spoofs and I’ve never given anyone my passwords. So, the only way I can
think that someone might have done this is via the New Graphic Site email
that went around.
Please, be safe, and I’m sorry to have to crosspost this, but it seemed that
this might be the one time it was a good thing to do.
