Obesity surgery

Hi, I have just begun my research into gastric bypass surgery. I went
to my GP today and she agreed that the surgery would be a good option
for me. My BMI is 59.4 so I would qualify without much objection.

How do I begin? What questions do I ask? Do I go with the doctor
that my GP suggested? How long do you think it would take from the
time of my first visit until the surgery? What type of emotions
should I expect? What type of reactions did you receive from family
and friends when you first told them?

Just had surgery the 8th. Alot of surgery! Had hernia, collapsed
lung, stomach in cheast cavity alot of problems. Plus got Bypass.
Doing good. Still have staples, 30 of them and 1 drainage tube. I had
2 at first. I now have a zipper and 3 belly buttons =) Just glad to be
here! I am looking for some new friends to share with. Was tickled to
find a support group!

I am seeking information on weight loss surgery and it’s effects on
Lupas or connective tissue disorder.

I you have one of these diseases and have had WLS , especially the lap-
band, would you share any and all information and/or all experiences
with me.

I have a friend who is considering the lap band and has been diagnosed
with connective tissue disorder and is needing to gather information
in order to make an informed discision.

Hi everyone,

I just had surgery this past tuesday and although I am doing okay I am
seriously having trouble wanting and having the stomach to drink those
protein shakes. I am having enough trouble with water and cystal light
and such..Did any of you all have the same problem? Especially the
first few days out of surgery?
Will it get beter?? I am sooo tiredd!

Any info would be great right

Just got my fasting lab work back & my cortisol level is up s/b 3.1-
22.5. Liver enzymes ALT (SGPT) 45 s/b 0-40 which is high. Protein is
6.9 s/b 6.0-8.5, that is good right? b-12 is 865 s/b 211-911. What so
you guys think?

This morning I got on my computer to find that my ebay account had been
changed and I’d been locked out and that someone had pretended to be me and
authorized about $6,000 worth of payments to an address in Indonesia. I’ve
spent the last hour talking to ebay, paypal, and my credit card company. I
think I’ve got it straightened out. I’ve changed all my passwords.

If you have a paypal account or an ebay account, please check to be sure
there has been no unauthorized activity in the last 24 hours. Please change
all your passwords and security questions. I don’t KNOW that this
spam/virus was the cause of this problem, but I’ve never responded to any
spoofs and I’ve never given anyone my passwords. So, the only way I can
think that someone might have done this is via the New Graphic Site email
that went around.

So I have my meeting set up for June 6th. Wanted to know what every
one had to do? I heard there are a lot of things we do before the
surgery. Or is it different for everyone? I am bring my husband with
so he can ask any questions that he has also what are some good ones
to ask? I have somne but want to ask all the ones that I can think of
so I am set and have all the info. that I need:) thanks

I am from Minnesota and looking to see if anyone knows some doctors
that I will be going to and seeing how they were? I will be going to
Methodist Hospital in Mn. I was woundering the staff were there? And
